My story
My name is Liliana Stansbury. I am a Transformative Life Coach, a former University Professor of Applied Linguistics, and a Trainer in Neurolinguistic Programming
I was born in Mar del Plata, a beautiful city, on the Atlantic coast of Argentina, to a rather traditional family. From my mother I got the curiosity and thirst for constant learning, strength and creativity. My father passed on the awe and respect for all that is life, nature, and his dedication to research and exploration.
My Father was passionate about his work as a thoracic surgeon, his enthusiasm about the research in the healing technologies was unparalleled. A true pioneer in the medical field of the advancement of new technology to save lives.
My passion music, dance and the new.
From age 5, I became a world traveler, constantly moving with my family to follow my father’s latest research, to a different center and/or country, every year. In hindsight, I recognize I got first-hand training in flexibility and resilience. I identified as a citizen of the world early on, learning how to cope with welcoming the new and letting go of it all, year after year.
Greatest learning from the least expected
Fast forwarding, I married very young and learned through trial and error about life, about myself and about what was most valuable to me. In the friction of a partnership I became aware of the unknown dreams of others that had been imprinted in me by family and culture, unconsciously; I also learned how important communication is in a relationship. I made changes the hard way; this prompted me to develop a lifetime of interest on how the process of learning life could be made easier; how and why we do what we do. I learned to value the key moments of true choice; all this I applied later on in my work.
My most challenging times came as a mother, after my daughter at birth had an accident that would leave her without hearing for the rest of her life. She has been my greatest teacher for communication and transformation. It is thanks to her that I dared to explore way beyond what my career as professor required of me. I researched everything I could find about language and the brain, movement and neural pathways, how human beings learn best and how we make meaning of our world. I followed Ancient Teachings and Practices; I researched current quantum physics and the neuroplasticity of the brain. I needed to know what makes people heal and what doesn't; It was through the biggest challenges of my life that I was guided to experience the practical paths to evolve with more ease and joy. This make up my coaching today.
Not a traditional curriculum
Of the many studies and certifications here are a few:
Certified Life Coach from “The Coaches Training Institute”, since 2002, a Certified Transformative Coach and a Feminine Power Leadership Graduate with Katherine Woodward Thomas and Claire Zammit. I have extensive Life Coaching and Training experience through my Institute “Instituto de Neurolinguistica Sistemica”, based in Mar del Plata, Argentina, where I was proprietor as well as course developer, trainer and coach. I have training in Gestalt Field Psychology with Dr. Adriana Schnake, Chile, in Neurosciences with the late Dr. Graciela Bianco, Argentina, in Neurolinguistic Programming mainly with Robert Dilts and Judith DeLozier, Santa Cruz, Ca. U.S.A. and in Craneo-Sacral Therapy with the Upleger Institute, TaiChi Chuan with Liu Pai Lin, Brazil, QiGong and Breath Practice.
With more than twenty years of work as Professor in the field of Applied Linguistics, exploring the relationship between language, the brain, emotions and the body, I weave together a unique blend of skills and life experience. My coaching is rooted in a global, multicultural, trans-generational and deeply spiritual perspective. As an international Coach I have coached and done workshops with thousands of people in either English or Spanish. It is this unique blend of skills and experience that allows me to focus on the specific needs of my clients and design a process beyond any one coaching school.
How I discovered My Mission
Today, I’m passionate about discovering and mirroring back young women's greatness.
I remember when I was 26, recently divorced with a 3-year-old baby that required special attention, that I met an older woman with a rich perspective on life and an expanded awareness. She mirrored my thoughts, feelings, and actions; she knew who I was, better than myself at the time. Thanks to this alliance my work, my business, my relationships, my family, my whole life transformed in a very short period. Most importantly the way I saw myself and knew my value/worth changed completely. I made a 180-degree turn; She believed in me in ways that I did not believe in myself. In that process I realized the power that was intrinsic in me, having clarity of what was mine to give. I harnessed it and aligned towards what I was most passionate about and what was most meaningful to me. That’s when I knew I was on to something huge; in just a few years I resigned my full time job as professor at my university and started coaching other women/men witnessing transformations I never deemed possible. I was thrilled to do this same thing, for younger people, just as it had been passed on to me, I have been doing coaching ever since. I can lead you to a transformation like this because of my own experience, This is my mission; the world needs it now more than ever before.
